Tahira Reid

The objective of Dr. Reid’s research program is to quantify and integrate human-centered considerations in the design process and human-machine systems. She is the founder of the Research in Engineering and Interdisciplinary Design (REID) Lab where she uses interdisciplinary methods, from the social sciences and engineering to conduct human centered studies and experiments. Dr. Reid’s prides herself on enhancing the undergraduate and graduate student experience, and showing the various ways that a mechanical engineering background serves as a foundation for interdisciplinary work, with the hopes of making it more appealing to women and underrepresented groups of all ages.
